Applicant requirements

EB-2A – advanced degree

This category is for candidates who hold an advanced degree (Master’s or higher) or a Bachelor’s degree followed by at least five years of progressive professional experience in the field.
• Master’s degree or higher;
• Alternatively: A Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of documented post-baccalaureate progressive experience in the specialty;
• Education credentials: Academic records from the U.S. or their foreign equivalent;
• Employment verification: Letters from current or former employers confirming your years of experience and professional duties.

EB-2B – exceptional ability

For specialists who possess a degree of expertise significantly above that ordinarily encountered in the sciences, arts, or business, supported by proven exceptional skills.
You must satisfy at least 3 out of the 6 criteria below:
• Academic record: An official academic record showing that you have a degree or similar award from a college, university, or other institution of learning relating to your area of exceptional ability;
• 10 years of experience: Evidence of at least 10 years of full-time experience in your occupation;
• License or certification: A license to practice your profession or certification for a particular profession or occupation;
High remuneration: Evidence that you have commanded a salary or other remuneration for services that demonstrates your exceptional ability;
• Professional memberships: Membership in a professional association(s);
• Peer recognition: Recognition for your achievements and significant contributions to your industry or field by peers, governmental entities, or professional or business organizations.
